The company Ornamin
The company „Ornamin-Fabrikation für Kunststoffverzierungen GmbH“ was founded in Düsseldorf on December 12, 1952; as licensee of the ornamin-process for the decoration of melamine products. Beside us a number of companies worldwide received the license – some as producers of melamine products and the others, such as us, as producers of decorative films.
In January 1955 the production was moved to Minden. In 1966 the company picked up speed with the introduction of thermoplastic decorative films (In-Mould Labels). The decisive breakthrough came in 1972/73. Ornamin was one of the first companies internationally to successfully produce decorative films for the plastics industry.
The company bought an industrial site at its present location in 1979 and built an even more modern production plant. From that time on, a new branch of production of articles with printing and print finishing of both plastic and paper under the trade name ODF-Druck supplemented our range of products.
This rapid growth led to extensions of the production space in 1985 and again in 1995. Today, after producing specialist products for more than half a century, the company is still growing.
Ornamin In-Mould Labels can be found in a multitude of different products from many countries around the world – from Europe to the Middle East, from the USA down to South Africa, from Colombia to Hongkong.
